Addition of a Women's Commission

Motorcycling Australia has taken a forward step in ensuring that women's motorcycling continues to grow and develop in Australia, with the introduction of a new Women's Commission.

With an emphasis having been placed in recent years on improving the standards of competition and facilities available to female riders, the soon-to-be formed Commission will continue the push to facilitate such needs.

Motorcycling Australia CEO, David White, said that the creation of the Commission is designed to encourage the involvement of females throughout all forms of motorcycling.

"What this Commission aims to achieve is the active participation of females in all aspects of motorcycling, both sporting and non-sporting and at competitor, official and administrative levels,"  White said.

"The move to implement a Women's Commission is in line with the growth we have seen in recent years of female involvement, and with the Commission in place this trend will hopefully continue."

Intended applicants for a position on the Commission should read chapter seven of the 2007 Manual of Motorcycle Sport for a description of the role of Commissioners.

Applications close on Thursday, 15 March. 2007, should be made in writing and can be sent to:
