2006 Kirk McCarthy Memorial Award - Applications closing

Applications are soon closing to become the recipient of the 2006 Kirk McCarthy Memorial Award, and to receive a leg-up in contesting next year's Australian Superbike Championship.

October 31 is the cut-off date for applications to be sent in, with the winner of the award receiving a trophy as well as financial and product support to compete in the 2006 series.

The Kirk McCarthy Memorial Award was established by the family of the late Kirk McCarthy, and is designed to assist young riders in their efforts to compete in the Australian Superbike Championship.

Applications will be assessed based on several different areas, including the applicant's professional attitude, ability, presentation, dedication, commitment and their general attitude.

Each application that is received will be assessed by a panel which will include representatives from the McCarthy Family, the motorcycle industry and Motorcycling Australia.
