Terry O'Neill's Australian Formula Xtreme Championship Company is to run two road race series in 2009 having relinquished the promotion of the Australian Superbike Championship to Yarrie Konsky's Frontline Media Group.
The Formula Xtreme Tri-State Trophy series will be contested over five rounds at four traditional east coast venues from May to September. The NSW Formula Xtreme Cup series is a two round series based in New South Wales only and is being touted as a shake down series for the Formula Xtreme Tri-State Trophy series. The NSW Formula Xtreme Cup series will run early in 2009 with the first round scheduled in February and the second in March.
O'Neill is currently planning to include the same classes in both 2009 series. At this stage the planned classes include:
- Formula Xtreme (Open to A,B,C,D)
- Formula Oz (Open to A,B,C,D)
- Formula Xtreme-Lites (Open to A,B,C,D)
- Pro-Twins/Nakedbike (Open to A,B,C,D and Forgotten Era)
- FZ6 Cup (Open to A,B,C,D)
- Superstock 600 (Open to at this stage C&D grade)
- Juniors (13-16yrs) (Open to both 2 and 4-stroke machines)
- Xtreme Ultra-Lites (Open to A,B,C,D)

Rnd 2 …… 21-22nd March, Wakefield Park Raceway, NSW
2009 Formula Xtreme Tri-State Trophy series
Rnd 1 ….. 15-17 May, Winton Raceway, Victoria
Rnd 2 ….. 12-14 June, Eastern Creek Raceway, NSW
Rnd 3-4 ..24-26 July, Queensland Raceway, Qld
Rnd 5 ….. 25-27 September, Wakefield Park Raceway, NSW
